Senior year is such an exciting milestone — full of “lasts,” but also so many new beginnings. This was Macy’s second half of her senior photos, and we were thrilled to capture even more of her personality and style this time around!

We started our afternoon in Grand Rapids, Ohio, where the charm of the small town made for the perfect backdrop. From rustic brick walls to cozy storefronts, her natural confidence and laughter brought her images to life. The fall colors along the streets added such a warm, timeless glow to her portraits and the low water level allowed for some fun images in the river!

After exploring Grand Rapids, we headed back to Napoleon, to finish her session in some of her favorite local spots.

This second session felt like the perfect continuation of her senior story — relaxed, joyful, and full of adventure. We love when seniors choose to do a follow-up session; it gives us a chance to capture more of who they are as they head into their next chapter.

Congratulations, Macy — we can’t wait to see all that your senior year brings!

Our small corner of Northwest Ohio is full of amazing locations for sessions and we were very excited to head to Grand Rapids, Ohio for Ella’s senior session!  This nature loving girl was in her happy place as we explored the unique downtown, hopped in the shallow waters of the Maumee River, and made our way to the neighboring state park where we found trails, stone buildings with the feel of Ireland, and the local dam.  Her smile could light up a room and she looked beautiful!  She even braved the rocky waters for the perfect image to end the evening!  Thank you Ella and family for a fun evening, we wish you the best of luck in your senior year!

Grand Rapids, Ohio has always been a favorite spot for any session; the river, mill, downtown, and metro parks provide so many wonderful opportunities!  It was the perfect backdrop for the Verhoff Family last weekend to update their extended family photos and to grab a bite at the local pizza eatery after.  We may have had to wait out a few raindrops and showers, but once it cleared, we had perfect fall weather, adorable little ones, and a few adventurous adults exploring the river!  Thank you Verhoff Family for a fun afternoon!

Cool mornings are here and the fields are just starting to change color, fall is quickly approaching and our senior schedule is full!  We had the pleasure of spending part of our weekend with Tyson in Grand Rapids, Ohio last weekend and it was a beautiful evening.  He has such a handsome smile and kind personality, it was a joy to capture this moment for his family!  Tyson was even on the lookout for great spots, we love when our seniors incorporate their ideas into the session, it makes it that much more personalized!  Towards the end he was even reading our minds with what we would want him to do!  Thank you for a great evening, we hope you have a great senior year and best of luck next fall!!

Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, Ohio is stunning, but it was even more beautiful for the reception of Zach & Kenzie!  From their ceremony in Archbold, to a quick drive to Grand Rapids, the day was warm, full of laughter, and so much love was radiating from the couple and their amazing bridal party!  Their adorable little Sylvia made the day that much sweeter with a heart melting smile that only got bigger when her mom or dad walked in the room!  Once we arrived at Nazareth we were lucky enough to get to head down to the grotto for their bridal party portraits and it was the perfect place to help keep everyone cool.  Heat indexes reached much higher than anticipated for the day and it was hot!  The guys were troopers and happy to remove their tux jackets and the laddies were amazing in their light dresses and sandals!

There was not a dull moment with their bridal party, we had mooing, sidesplitting laughs, and they kept us on our toes all day; I wouldn’t have had it any other way!  You can see the excitement and fun that everyone was having in each of the images from the day, just check out these sneak peeks!  Zach & Kenzie’s parents we so supportive and helpful throughout the day as well, making sure everything went off without a hitch!  Thank you Zach & Kenzie for allowing us to capture your special day, we were honored and had a blast with all of you!  Congratulations!

Just over a year ago a message from a mom to be that I had never met looking for a last minute maternity session appeared in my inbox; she was so sweet and beyond excited to welcome their little one in a few short weeks!  I will be forever grateful that she took that leap and left that message!  It has been so much fun to get to know Alicia, Matt, & Warren over the last year, such a fun couple with an adorable little guy and I couldn’t wait to help them celebrate his first birthday with a family session.  We headed out to Providence Metropark in Grand Rapids, Ohio last weekend and with great weather after some humid days, it was perfect.  Warren did so well, we saw lots of smiles, giggles, and playing in the dirt!  I look forward to many more wonderful sessions with the Zirkes Family in the future, thank you Alicia for sending that message and Happy 1st Birthday Warren!

Spring is here!  However while there are still many places with little color, there are others with lush green grass and budding trees!  I am so excited to capture the wedding of Zach & Kenzie this coming August and last weekend we met in Grand Rapids, Ohio for their engagement session!  Providence Park was still hibernating, but after finding several wonderful spots, we headed to the always beautiful Nazareth Hall where their wedding reception will be held!  Even though it was only a few miles away from our starting point, there were gorgeous green grasses and the grotto was perfect!  After some great captures of the two of them, we tuned the engagement session into a mini family session and added in their beautiful little girl!  With a smile from ear to ear, you couldn’t be anything but happy around her!  Zach & Kenzie are such a sweet couple and I can’t wait to spent their special day with them!  Congratulations you two!

A message came through a few weeks ago from a mom to be looking to do a maternity session before their little one’s arrival at the end of July. We instantly hit it off and found a date to meet up in Grand Rapids, Ohio for their session! Alicia & Matt were so much fun to work with! Not a single dull moment, jokes and inside jokes were in abundance! We strolled from one end of this adorable amazing little town to the other, getting to know one another, hearing about their little one’s nursery, and learning about how these two met! Not only did we get to celebrate this little family, but we celebrated this little one in a very special image that you will see below. Alicia and Matt you guys are so much fun, thank you for bringing many smiles to my Saturday evening!

This family, I love them!  I looked forward to seeing this crew each and every year!  It is so fun to look back at just how much these three have changed since last year.  This year we ventured out to the gorgeous town of Grand Rapids on a warm Sunday afternoon!  We strolled around enjoying the fall colors as we looked for just the right spot for each kiddo, talking about dinner the night before, staying dry and not jumping into the water, and the yummy smells coming from each shop and restaurant we passed!  Before we knew it the sun was starting to lower in the west and our tummies were rumbling!  Thank you Grooms Family for a wonderful Sunday!!!

Last weekend I was honored to be able to shoot along side fellow photographer & friend Lauren Beers!  We headed out to Nazareth Hall in Grand Rapids, OH for the beautiful wedding of Kelsey & Sean!  Despite the day’s previous rain and moving their ceremony inside, the day was sunny & gorgeous for some outdoor photos and what a beautiful venue inside!  From their energetic bridal party and two handsome little boys, to great family and friends, a wonderful time was had by all.  Congrats Kelsey & Sean!
