Hints of spring color are popping up, the grass is greening, and the trees are finally budding!  Though finding that beautiful spring green color is still tough around here, we had a great Saturday evening for Eric’s senior session!  We started at his home with their gorgeous barns and his adorable pup and then headed out in his VW Cabriolet for some fun!  He took us to a gorgeous secluded spot with amazing grasses, paths, and trees, add in that gorgeous golden light, and we had a perfect evening!  Eric is a such a sweet young man with a great smile that makes everyone around him smile too!  Congratulations Eric and best of luck after graduation!

This year’s St. Patty’s Day was spent with sweet Miss Sophia!  Just one year ago we took this little peanut’s newborn pictures and here she is, a sweet cheeked 1 Year old with smiles and funny faces for days!  Let’s talk about those amazing catch lights in her beautiful blue eyes, she was loving watching her Mom and Grandma singing behind me, lots of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger songs were happening!  We had some spring flowers around her and she found it hilarious to move them every time her Mom and I placed them around her and it gave us the best facial expressions!  Enjoy the many faces of Miss Sophia!

This Image.  This Family.  This Session.  The Wheeler Family had an absolutely beautiful day for their session this fall, cool temperatures, amazing golden light, and an adorable little girl!  There isn’t one image from their session that I’m not in love with, picking a favorite is nearly impossible and their session is one of my favorites from this year!
Last week I received a notification that an image from their session was going to be published in Shutter Scene Magazine!  I was speechless, excited, and in awe!  Publication, something photographers dream of, something I have been dreaming of since the first time I picked up my camera so many years ago.  It still feels surreal!

2018 has been an amazing year, from newborns, milestones, families, weddings, pups, and more, things are winding down as we near the Holidays and ready ourselves for the New Year!  Graphics projects are still keeping me busy and it’s been so much fun to create Holiday cards for clients with images from their sessions!  Logo Designs are underway and many more projects are on the books!

A huge thank you to everyone whom has helped me to get to this point, for supporting my leap into the graphic design and photography business to the wonderful and amazing clients I have had the chance to work with!  You have all made this business what it is, an amazing journey that I wouldn’t want to share with anyone else!  Thank You!

Cool air brings pumpkins and crisp colorful leaves!  Last weekend’s session with the Robertson Family was on a beautiful fall day with a hint of color occurring in the leaves!  You may recognize many of these faces from sessions this year and previous years, they are some of my favorite yearly sessions, but it isn’t very often we get to photograph them as a group!  It also just so happens that the Robertson Family is also some of my family, and what’s more fun than getting to capture your own family!  We never have a dull moment, from the fun pups to the crazy and scary eyes of Brok!  What a gorgeous day for a great family, thanks guys and can’t wait for the next time!

A few weeks ago I met Matt & Alicia for the very first time in Grand Rapids, Ohio for their maternity session.  Then August 1 I got a message that  Baby Zirkes had arrived!  This last Wednesday Warren James visited for his newborn session, he is such a little peanut and his personality is already coming through!  We captured some adorable expressions from Warren and some amazing moments between his Mom and Dad and him!  Lots of snuggles and baby smiles filled our afternoon!  Congratulations Matt & Alicia!

I look forward to this young man’s session every year!  He is sweet, caring, helpful, and funny!  Every session with him is an adventure, deciding what place will we explore each year, and I am sure he will be taller than me!  We headed to the Auglaize River this year and found some great spots to show off his amazing smile, and those freckles, I love them!  With school just around the corner, spending the morning with Trey was a great way to start winding down July!  Good luck this upcoming year Trey!

What a beautiful day Tyler & Erica had for their wedding last weekend!  The guys were handsome in their blue suits and the girls we gorgeous in their deep navy dresses!  The flowers smelled amazing and the details at the reception were intricate and a perfect depiction of who Tyler & Erica are.  We had so much fun at their engagement session at Sauder Village a few months back and we had even more fun at the wedding with the addition of a great bridal party!  Many couples are opting to do a first look on the big day, but Tyler & Erica didn’t want to see each other until Erica walked down the aisle.  I got a message from Erica the day before the wedding saying they had changed their mind and wanted to add in a first look, and I’m so glad they did!  The emotion between them in the moments that Tyler turned around and saw Erica can’t be put into words, there is an amazing connection between this sweet couple that you just have to see!  The ceremony went off without a hitch, we had a great time with the bridal party, and the reception was full of great food, cake, and dancing!  We decided to take advantage of the beautiful evening and head outside towards the end of the reception and take some gorgeous photos next to an old truck!  It was a beautiful day for this amazing couple, it has been great working with them, I was honored to spend their day with them, and can’t wait to see what their future holds, Congrats Tyler & Erica!

Saturday, July 21, I had the honor of joining Angela of ARK Photography at the wedding of Tim & Alecia!  What a great couple and such a fun bridal party, the love these two share is evident every time they look at one another!  While the rain did have us running for cover every now and then, the absolutely gorgeous church made for some amazing photos as well!  We headed out to a beautiful park after the ceremony and then onto a reception full of great dances, music, and cake!

There’s something special about joining a fellow photographer as a second photographer on a wedding day, this is something we call community over competition.  When another photographer, or couple, would like to add a second photographer to a wedding day, we call on one another and have the joy of shooting together!  We learn from one another, help fluff dresses for shots, toss a veil and run, and find a second amazing angle for the same shot he or she is getting at that very moment.  It can get quite comical when you have two photographers working together, we always know where one another is, but when you are focusing on what’s in your view finder and walking around, you have a tendency to bump into one another!  Which of course causes smiles from the couple and the bridal party and what’s better than that?!  I learned some great tips from Angela that day and was able to share a few things that I do on my couples’ wedding days, it’s a great experience for both the lead photographer and second!  Whether one photographer is Canon and the other Nikon or even Sony, that doesn’t matter at the end of the day, we all have our own gear, but the end result is the same, capturing that couple’s amazing wedding day to the best of our combined abilities, learning together, getting to know each other, making life long friendships, and encouraging and building one another up!  Thank you Angela for asking me to join you and Congrats Tim & Alecia!

Tractors, combines, wagons, and cake, what a perfect way to celebrate Jensen’s 1st Birthday!  It has been a joy to watch this little guy grow and get to see him every three months for his milestone sessions, I am going to miss seeing him and catching up with his mom and dad!  We headed out to some great remote locations full of old barns and gorgeous tall grass, perfect for pedal tractors and straw bales.  Once we captured some smiles we added his John Deere cake and he loved it!  Icing from his head to his piggies and about half of it gone!  Thank you Hamman family for a wonderful year of so many smiles and laughs, Happy Birthday Jensen!

A message came through a few weeks ago from a mom to be looking to do a maternity session before their little one’s arrival at the end of July. We instantly hit it off and found a date to meet up in Grand Rapids, Ohio for their session! Alicia & Matt were so much fun to work with! Not a single dull moment, jokes and inside jokes were in abundance! We strolled from one end of this adorable amazing little town to the other, getting to know one another, hearing about their little one’s nursery, and learning about how these two met! Not only did we get to celebrate this little family, but we celebrated this little one in a very special image that you will see below. Alicia and Matt you guys are so much fun, thank you for bringing many smiles to my Saturday evening!
