There is something incredibly rewarding about capturing a familiar face year after year, and Brok’s latest portrait session was the perfect way to capture his fall school photos. Since Brok is part of our family, getting to document his growth and personality each autumn has become one of our favorite traditions—even if he is officially taller than me now!

We headed downtown to a local library for this year’s backdrop, utilizing the building’s stunning architecture to give his photos a classic, sophisticated feel. Because the library sits right next to the river, we were also able to head outside to use the waterfront as a second backdrop, perfectly lighting him against the wide-open views and the timeless stonework of the building. It’s a wonderful twist on the traditional school photo—giving him the space to feel comfortable, look his absolute best, and show off his genuine style without the rush of a standard school gym setup.

Brok was fantastic in front of the camera, easily moving from quick laughs to classic, striking portraits. It is hard to believe how much he has grown since our very first session together quite some time ago, and we are so grateful to look back at the visual timeline we’ve built together over the years.
